The Village Institute for Psychotherapy was established in 1994. Its Founder Dr. Frederick Woolverton envisioned a psychotherapy center where all patients could receive high quality, effective, affordable treatment with psychotherapists who shared his strong belief in the benefits of therapy.
By 2004, the Institute had grown to a staff of 10 psychotherapists and over 200 patients. TVI also became an APA accredited training facility in 2009 and continues to launch dozens of well-trained psychotherapists into the community. In August 2005, TVI expanded to Fayetteville Arkansas to bring New York style therapy to a Southern less urban setting.
In 2018 Josh Jonas and Jill Morrison Jonas took over ownership of The Village Institute for Psychotherapy. Dr. Woolverton emphasized treating people, not behaviors and trained his team to fully appreciate the complicated nature of people’s lives, relationships and actions. Josh and Jill are continuing this legacy, and the TVI approach that the patient and the therapist both actively work together to bring about lasting change and emotional well-being.
The Village Institute continues to provide the best psychotherapy services in New York City. We have a lot of exciting things to come!
Dr. Woolverton continues to practice at the Fayetteville, AR location.
